all things made [by others].

now. i love when other people make stuff. they are usually more talented than me but i love to learn from them...and aspire to be like them someday. so i also want to post things that other people make that are around my house.[there is another post of stuff that i made...just catching up..then it will just be in daily blogs.]
< jackie, my sister-in-law, and mia, my niece, made this for me before we moved away...i love it, it sits in my kitchen.

Michael, my brother-in-law, made this metal frame and put a mirror inside it, so cool >

my mom re-upholstered my rocker and made that blanket...i love this chair. >

< i LOVE this diaper bag my mom made for me...its so cute and  vintage looking!

V this is the inside...so many    pockets and compartments...all sewed by my mom.

yes a smocked[the fine detailed stitching] bonnet for our little girl, cant wait to put it on her.its beautiful.-my mom again...we get a little spoiled...dont you think.

i love this blanket [and so does jesse] it was made by mother-in-law. she knits so well...i am currently learning from her. >
ps. it is so soft.
< "hooter hiders"...who else but my mom would make these for me.
i used them all the time when nursing.
knitted headbands by my mother-in-law, so cute, i am currently in the process of making one, will post if successful.

^ this is a stroller cover my mom made- i promise jesse likes it  but the sun was very bright...a little irritated  i guess. i love this because it is all patch-worked together with really cute fabrics. it also fold in on itself into it's own carrying bag, nifty, heh? trying to cut back on germs.

.

^ jesse's personalized sleeping bag made by my mother-in-law...so cute huh?...with a matching pillow! i wish the picture showed the cute vintage rv fabric.

my mom sewed both these baby blankets...i love the patchwork stuff...can you tell. they are flannel and very soft. i love the color scheme of blue and brown and of course there is an adorable patch that says "i love grandma". and you can not go wrong with  plain white...so nice to have.

this is a crochet blanket made by lisa hampsten...it is a baby blanket but i love the colors so much it stays draped across my sofa!       >

...and this quilt is so special...my mom made it for me before i had jesse. it matches my nursery perfectly...i love the colors and that silver engraving in the corner says "to my baby for her baby".   V

the wind-up & the busy girl

a random thought of the day:
[cleaning]: the process of moving junk (stuff)
from one room to the other...then moving stuff from that room
back to the room you were just in....then
repeating it over and over again.
[yes...i know it also involves dusting, vacuuming, & chemicals but in a house of kids, dogs, and husbands the definition above is accurate!]

well today was an ok day however jesse
would not take his afternoon nap
...so he cried in his crib for 2 hours
...not my favorite thing!

this morning i decided to tape him playing with one of his toys(thanks nana and papa)...we are pretty sure brain damage is occurring! if interested see video below.

now {the busy girl}-alyson
this is my sister. she is living with us for this
school year to get a lot of her classes done so she can get into nursing school. she does very well in school and i do not think she will have a problem getting in. anyways its been great to have her here...especially when i was really sick in the beginning of this pregnancy
...plus i really  think it is helping mark prepare for a little girl!
alyson is really busy these days putting lots of time into school and now volunteering at the hospital.

>
typical alyson leaving out the front door
most likely in a rush.

here she is not to happy about taking this picture
...sorry she lives with a "blogger" now ...i guess! <

< Also as you may know i love home-made things, so i wanted to post a picture of a gift i received from alyson's boyfriend's mom...she is very talented at making quilts and mark wants me to make more balls like the one she made.

gopher in the garden

There are two things in life that i hate the most: liberal thinking and GOPHERS!....[well....im sure there are many other things i dont like but right now thats what i think.]

today was mostly about the garden:

  1. we love saturdays..beautiful day outside.
  2. jesse played all afternoon outside with toys and tasted every...well almost every...rock in the backyard!...he also crawled all over the grass with his butt in the air to avoid the poking grass {he looked like a stink bug ready to fire! haha!}
  3. last years garden was pulled up and all the weeds were pulled- thanks to my wonderful husband mark and his help.
  4. we flooded out a gopher from the garden....did i mentions i hate the little varmints!......it was quite the excitement of the afternoon: he poked his head out..after a lot of water, and we (well....mostly mark) annihilated him. see pics.

{the hole, the attempted escape, the tool of choice, the proof}

[garden result]: fully tilled, currently gopher free, ready soil for our spring garden!
