lessons learned.

yes...
me along with jesse, elleanne and mark
are all on a giant learning curve again.
we are learning
elleanne, she is learning us...jesse is learning her..
we are learning 2 kids...rather than one...
schedules...obeying...balancing...etc.

oh yes...
ad we are still learning what jesse
can and can not touch....
even in his own room!
so today,
was actually my first day by myself
with the kiddos.
well as is the title..
lessons were learned.
this morning it was time to nurse elleanne
so i decided to do it
in jesse's room while he plays with his toys.
well everything was going great
until he decided to reach up for
his musical water globe...
yes he grew overnight and was able to reach it.
of course i happened to be looking down at elleanne,
trying to get her latched
[still not the easiest thing yet.]
and he got a hold of his globe...
however, he realized it was heavy and in
a pickle just a little too late.
i looked up, after hearing his whining and saw him holding the globe above his head and part way on the shelf.
he was upset, obviously figuring out he was stuck but
didn't want to drop it.
it was actually really funny,
so while i was still trying to nurse
i reached over to help him out...
but could not get a good reach...
and crash
the water globe came down...
shattering to pieces.
it was really unfortunate
to have that beautiful musical glass globe break.
lessons learned:
-survey the room before sitting down to nurse
-next time...just un-latch elleanne before trying to help jesse.
-teach jesse what to not touch.
-fragile items should not be in reach.
well, it used to be a glass-snow globe...
that yellow thing by the stuffed animal is the center moon
that is now broken.
...jesse felt really bad...
{note the wet pants-from the globe falling all over him!}
but after everything was all cleaned up...he was ok...back to playing...just a few tears left over.
ok, next item.
so i have 2 very talented moms
that i want to brag about as usual!
i have 2 pictures,
one are the tutus my mom made for
elleanne-so cute!
and the other is the blanket
that my mother-in-law knitted!
it is so soft and pretty.

news of the garden:

yea....
tomatoes are already coming {featured in the first picture}
and those rows of green are
sugar snap peas
and 2 different kind of beans.
also those front bushes are my herbs.

and last thing.
mark has a new nickname for elleanne...
she currently has her really bad baby acne.
and she is still slightly on the purple side
in her extremities...and her acne adds to the purplish tint.
so he lovingly refers to her as his:
purple pimpled princess!
{trying saying that x10 in a row!}

introductions.

nana and papa
came to visit
and to meet their new
granddaughter yesterday.
it was so much fun to
to introduce them to her.
i have some pictures to share of our time
together.
we also will be seeing them again
 in a couple of days
after they take
their mini vacation...
celebrating my mother-in-law, carole's
birthday and my father-in-law, skip's
retirement.

oh yes, and so a great big happy
birthday to carole!

the initial meeting...

and some family pictures.

{jesse was not exactly in fine
form this morning :)}

and just a couple more snapshots
of family time with daddy in our room
today.
^ elleanne is thinking..."are you really my dad."
jesse is thinking...."yep, thats what you got!"
haha....they dont know how lucky they are!
 giving kisses to elleanne.^
and i love this picture...they were laughing
together....well elleanne would
be if she could.

ok and lastly
for record keeping sake.
elleanne: 2 weeks old {already!}

goodbyes are hard.

but luckily we will see grandma again soon!
well, grandma left today
but she will be back again in may
to get my sister alyson
and bring her home.
so i have quite a few pictures of grandma and her
grandkids from this afternoon.
we are thankful that she came and
helped us out for the past 2 weeks
it was great to have her around

elleanne is saying
"stop the paparazzi"....jesse loves it!

well, we are excited
to see nana and papa tomorrow
(they are mark's parents)
they will be meeting elleanne
for the first time tomorrow.

ok just a little side
note. today right before jesse
went down for his nap.
he went and got elleanne's pacifier
brought it over to her
and shoved it in her mouth.
i could not believe that my
almost 16 month little
boy, has already picked up
on the fact that
the pacifier is for his sister
and where it goes,
we haven't even used it that much yet.

this is right after he
tried to give her the pacifier
she did not take it
but she is definitely checking him out.

"alright, well i guess i will go about my business." -jesse.

this picture i wanted to post because this is a somewhat new look for jesse....
kinda closes his eyes at you...when he does not want to listen.
[a little rebellious spirit in there ...don't you think.]

ok, lastly
another keeping up with the baby photos
documenting elleanne's daily changes in her looks.

elleanne: 12 days old.

ok, and i have
last bit of wonderful news.
it was my father-in-laws
last day of work today.
Yea!!!
he is officially retired,
and hopefully living the good life!
he has been working at gallo winery
since he was in his 20's.
{hehehe....please pray
for my mother-in-law....
as her freedom is now gone!
;)}
thats a winking face above.

the release.

yes, yesterday {april 25, 2012}
elleanne hit one of her first milestones:
"the release of the belly-button"!
it's official, the umbilical cord is now gone.
yea!
hahahaha.

here is a picture of elleanne's belly
before her bath...after the belly button
fell off.
....she has quite the "outtie" right now
dont you think.
so, now
i have some more...
just random pictures
of life at the wright's.

yesterday, was also a
bath night night for everybody
so here are some pictures

elleanne after her bath-not to happy about it.

and hangin' out with dad after work.

and a couple more pictures of elleanne
today: 11 days old.

schedules.

hi my name is laura
and i am a "scheduler".
yes, i live off of schedules
it brought sanity to jesse and
it was the only way i could finally get him to gain weight when
he was a baby.
well, let the scheduling begin.
i am trying to get elleanne
going on a more consistent schedule
that will work for all of us in the family.
i am working towards a 0700 schedule.
her day will start around 0700
every morning, and then she will eat, then be
awake for awhile and then sleep again...
every 3 hours till 1000 at night
when she will be given as much food[milk]
as i can possibly give to her to get her
as far into the night as possible.
so far, we have been able to keep her nighttime
feedings to once...somewhere in between
0300-0500 in the morning.

anyways...i have some pictures of elleanne and i from yesterday
that i wanted to post.

so, i talked about
the package we received from nana and
papa a couple of days ago.
well the kids are wearing some of things that
came in that package today
so i took some pictures of them together in
their new gear.

he really likes to look and talk about
his little sister already...
it is really cute!

many names.

name:
elleanne fay wright.
meaning of elleanne:
{young girl full of grace and mercy.}
meaning of fay:
{fairy.}
we had to put 2 meanings together
for elleanne's name
because her name,
for us, was 2 names combined.
{ella and anne
 elleanne has
quite the entourage of nicknames.
so far we love to call her
any of these names:
ella, annie, or elle
we do not like to call her ellie.
obviously she gets called the regulars:
cutie, baby girl, baby, sweety, pumpkin,
and of course beautiful {grandma's here!}

{elleanne is 1 week old in these pictures!}
she was about to show
big smile but i didn't quite
catch it on camera.
anyways,
so we had a visitor today
and it was so wonderful to see
mark's cousin: ann!
we love ann, she is so fun to be
around and we always enjoy seeing
her. it was so nice of her
to stop by...especially since
we have not seen mark's
extended family for a long time!

and lastly,
jesse got his "baby" today
exactly 1 week after mommy got her baby.
he actually did not get a baby...
cause he is a boy
but he did get a puppy
that sings to him
and you can program him to
say jesse's name
and all his favorite things.
here are the pictures of
him getting his "baby present".

well thats it for today...
no eating breast milk
or poop stories today...
thank goodness!

tutus, milk, visitors.

so...
yes its been interesting finding the time
to blog.
you would think 2 kids...no big deal...
well, we have have two kids under 18 months!
busy!
even with my mom staying here for awhile we are still busy.
i forget how much time you spend
looking down at your infant feeding her!
plus, yet again nursing is going better than with jesse
but i am still having problems
{i will leave the details out for personal
conversation}
lets just say that
....yet again i am also married to my pump.
yuck! i hate that thing but it allows me to nurse...
the things we do for our kids...huh? already!
i feel like i am one giant boob! [sorry for the crassness]

anyways on the subject
of milk and pumps.
the other day...jesse came in while i was pumping
and was hanging out with me...showing me his toys.
well i got up...thought i put the milk on the dresser.
i came back, looked down
the milk canister was empty!
i quickly look for the spot where he poured it out
...it was not to be found!
soon after the dogs found jesse...
and found his mouth super appetizing to lick!
yes,...
my almost 1 and a half year old
drank my breast milk ... from the canister!
hahaha....wont that be fun to tell him
when he is 15!
gross.

so i am going to try and keep pictures posted on the blog
of elleanne, through this first little bit
here...because they change so quickly
on a daily basis.

so these are pictures of
elleanne - 4 days old.

and this one is
elleanne - 5 days old.

{so, yes we are definitely loving all the girl accessories...note the tutus in most the pictures!}
alright
visitors?
well i wanted to post some more
pictures if elleanne with
our visitors [ie...my parents]
...and then samuel, my brother, surprised us, and showed up last night to meet his new niece.

now, elleanne received her
first package...or piece of mail from nana and papa.
i decided to post a picture of it...
it was really fun to see both our kids names
written on the package!
thank you nana and papa!
and lastly,
we had to run errands this week
so i wanted to
document or first trip to
the store with my 2 kids
luckily i have nothing crazy to report
....[this time!]....

"yea! we are in the store!"

"hey?....who's back there?.... "
alright,
well hopefully i get better at
my time management skills to post
better!
