alright,
let me set the stage for this one!
it was friday morning three weeks ago
after a very stressful and busy
week.
we were leaving town for santa clarita
[my parents house]
for my brother and soon to be sister in laws
bachelor and bachelorrette party
as soon as mark got home from work.
well, we woke up that morning and 0545
to get mark out the door for work 2 hours earlier
so he could leave
earlier to be down there.
[we had so much to do for the parties!}
we begrugdingly got up when the alarm went off.
i got up and made his lunch,
he quickly got ready...
and off he went on his motorcycle.
still on plan!
how did we get there?
let me tell you from mark's perspective...
{but told by me...;)}
"it was a beautiful crisp july morning in paso robles
i [mark] was off to an early start, according to plan!
i get on the freeway with ease, traffic is light...
and start to enjoy the beautiful scenery around me...
all of a sudden i felt prompted to look
down at my bike.
a regular picture of this would include a
general survey of the bike...with all things intact.
however this was not a normal morning...
i looked down and saw that to my dismay...
my gear shifter was GONE!
great....i am going 65-70 mph
in 5th gear on the highway with no way to shift!
upon further evaluation, mind you while driving...
the gear shifter was dangling behind the bike flying with the wind!
GREAT!!!
with each passing second i was getting farther and farther away from my home!
quickly, i decide to pull off at the next freeway exit...
{at this point not sure what mark did...but it
was the correct thing to do so he wouldnt die, thank goodness ...maybe take it out of gear....is that possible?...i dont know?}
i parked the bike at the safest place to stop off the freeway.
after surveying the situation and considering the time constraints of getting to work
a towing service was called...yuck! what a morning....
i got to work only 10 min, earlier than normal
when all was said and done!
huge bummmmmmerrrrr!"
this all happened because one little bolt came lose and fell...
man, those important pieces.
