nesting{?} and baadaah.

the definition of {nesting}:
when a wife/mom goes crazy cleaning, cooking and preparing
the house for the new baby...right? and she gets everyone
else involved as if it is fun...ie husbands and children
[and if they are smart they will pretend to enjoy it...
for their 9.5 month pregnant significant other!]

yes...that was our day today.
happy to announce that the house is currently
spotless, some meals are made and ready,
nursery is mostly ready for a girl...
however jesse's stuff remains in there too
just until he moves into his new bedroom.
^ the baby girls room.
[or part of it.]

the other piece of the puzzle to this baby
coming...besides having the house ready for her,
meals prepared,
being in the month of april,
was to ...
have jesse walking- steady on his own!
and guess what
i can officially say that i have a
"walker".
as of yesterday he is walking all
over the house like a champ.
taking off on his own to get where
he needs to go!
it is so weird to have my baby
walk up to me
stand there in the kitchen and just
start talking to me.
he loves to walk now!
thats all he wants to do.
there is some video footage below if your interested.
[be fore-warned...the video is long...and repetitive
we just wanted enough footage....i think we got it!]

so one more thing related to pregnancy...
mark's cousin ann saw this today...
.....and thought of me....great!
[it is hilarious...and sorry this is crass
but you honestly feel like this blowout!] hahaha.

alright...
on that note
its april.....lets have this baby ....were ready.
i hope all of you reading this are having a serious time
of praying and fasting for this baby to come out soon.

Lastly, on to a lighter note!
mark and jesse
have these wars.
we call them baadaah wars
i caught a few snipits of these today...just for record keeping sake!

tires & curls.

this will be a short blog.
it was so nice to have mark home today.
we got a lot done...and in general
everybody was just in a better mood.
we did things like hang baby girls mobile,
answer emails,
switch out pictures in the nursery- basically
switch the nursery from boy to girl
[poor jesse for just a little bit!]
and lots, and lots of ironing
[my least favorite chore...of all chores!]
but it feels good to catch up.

we also went for a walk together this morning and i snapped this photo because jesse's hair daily gets curlier and curlier!

today was also a lot about tires.
tires...for everything....well almost
at least thats what it felt like.
thank goodness, mark keeps us on a budget
and sets aside money every month for days like these...
cause oh my goodness tires are ridiculous...
all for some rubber!
so...
marks car needed all new tires!
and the motorcycle needed a new front tire.
all the tires that were replaced looked very similar to the picture below.
yes those slash marks that look like chalk
[i didn't believe it till i felt it]
is actually the metal frame of the tire coming through.
needless to say, the tires desperately needed
replacing and now mark is ready
to commute to slo {san luis obispo} come monday!

and thats it for today...still no baby
but only one more day till april!
well, at least you can all rest assured her
birthstone should be a diamond!

a chapter closed.

last days.
...mark completed his final day at
tricalifornia today. a chapter of our lives
has closed...but another one is now open.
we are very excitied to see
what the future holds
but for mark, it was still sad to
say goodbye to friends at work.
he has many memories and lots of experiences
from working there. they took him out to lunch today...and it was a nice way to say goodbye.

this is at wildflower last year. sad he is missing it...but thankful he will get sleep!

well...onto Shopatron.
he starts on monday.
im sure there will be lots to share in
the near future...you're all thinking hopefully...
cause otherwise you know you will just read about the pains of pregnancy :) !

anyways,
for anyone who cares about my projects,
again i am not feeling that proud
about this either...but i said
i would post pictures so here it is.
yes another one of my handmade toys.
my poor kids get bombarded with
fabric toys...that i keep experimenting with.
this is going to be part of his easter basket.
[again i tried to take step by step  pictures
but i kinda forgot along the way!]
hes really into stacking things
so you know those plastic stacking rings
well i made some myself.

< first i made some rough patterns {although i did not really stick to them...it gave me a place to start.

then i cut out some
coordinating fabric strips {next time ill actually cut circles...i was just trying to conserve fabric. >

{this is where i forgot to keep taking pictures..so i sewed up my rings some where in there.}

< then cut down to size a paper towel rod, and covered a kleenex box with some packing tape leaving a hole at the top....i put them together with lots of hot glue for stability.

< then i covered it with vinyl fabric...i topped it off with a wooden bead that is never coming off. no sharp edges here.

below are the rings completely sewed and stuffed...the stuffing still needs to be "worked on" as you can tell.

 and there it is ..
soft stacking circles...ummmm...on a pole...
on top of a box! [hahaha.]
we'll see if he actually likes it.
[i do like the very boyish fabric!]

benadryl baby.

yet again.
...yes jesse appears to have
come down with something.
i am pretty upset about it, as this is the
third cold in a row....all at the end
of my pregnancy-not fun.
woke up this morning to very thick, yellow
snot, and a coughing baby! please God protect
me from this cold.
i have some footage of jesse on benadryl this afternoon. it was pretty funny because it was very obvious when the med kicked in all of a sudden...very wobbily on his feet and i looked up and he was laying on his walker...wierd. i didnt catch most of it but here is a short video.

so...
ob appointment today.
baby girl is still doing well,
however, making me miserable.
i convinced the md that his due date for
me is probably a little bit late
so hopefully that motivates him to induce
not too late if it comes to that.
but only 3 more days till
april...then i
try all the tricks in the book
to get this baby out.
sorry to the guys reading but just thought i would let you all know
the people i live with [ie mark and  alyson]
claim my belly looks a lot lower,
i feel like there is a boulder between my legs,
and the pressure is getting ridiculous
so...at least we're heading in the right direction...the more uncomfortable...the
farther along right?
{oh yes...by the way...did i mention i was
full term on monday, already in the hospital with jesse, and delivered him tom.
in my pregnancy timeline :) }

ok...so jesse's new
trick?
re-arranging my kitchen furniture...
apparently the chairs are not supposed
to sit around the table.

alright, lastly i have another video.
jesse has decided it is super cool to walk
with his walking toys one-handed.
[kinda like kids riding one handed on the bike...thats all they want to do.]

countdown.

       So this is the
current countdown number till the month of april...feeling like i dont even want to wait this long and this baby could still take weeks into april before she relieves me of the ever persisting
burden of pregnancy!...
sorry to all you women who loved being pregnant...to me it truly is the complete curse of eve.

anyways...i dont have much to say
i feel like i sit around perched
waiting as if the world
could end at any moment...im exhausted,
uncomfortable, unmotivated to do most things, and completely ready to not be pregnant.
[remind me i say these things when i am sleep-deprived caring for an infant...24 hours a day!]
anyways
our day was not that
exciting around here...mark only has 3 more
days at his current job- then he is done at
tri-cal and moving on to shopatron. we
are excited to see what the future
holds for our family with this company.

so i have a short video of jesse
[i recorded it for my mom...cause she gave jesse
this toy but a few others of you may be interested.] he has
this new obsession with using any toy, bench, chair, bowl, whatever you can think of that is not designed to be a push toy....to help him walk around the house. in this video he is using the caboose of a train...the train part is actually designed to be a toy walker...but he decided it was more fun to use the caboose all morning!

toilet paper & sponges

the weekend.
well, considering that i am still pregnant...
dont have that much to say.
i will let pictures do the talking.
except for some of things without pictures
that we accomplished this weekend
is going through all of mark's clothes
to get him ready for his "grown-up" job.
[thats what we keep saying, haha]
lots of errands to run...so nice to have mark
help out with jesse.
sleeping because that has become difficult
lately...this baby is doing jazzercise
and getting comfortable: impossible.

jesse has found the bathroom to be filled
with entertainment.
 trying to quickly escape
before getting in trouble.
he still does not catch on that
i was standing in the doorway...no way out except right past me!

mark paying bills...and keeping the budget...he looks thrilled,
huh?

for jesse's easter basket...he is getting a blow up pool [he loves water...i cant wait, hours of entertainment...and maybe i can get a tan too!]...anyways...i made these sponge balls for pool toys to put in his basket. just cut up the sponges and tied them together with fishing line.

i am working on another toy for his easter basket too...ill post pictures later.

another project i have going is my soon to be sister-in-laws bridal shower and bachelorette party...ill have to post all the pictures after they occur...but its all starting to come together {ie themes, food, invites, etc.}

lastly i have another video of jesse
saying some of his words...
however he is getting very difficult to video
tape because he does not talk as much when the video is on...so he does not say all his
words as well as he can actually say them
...and i could not capture him saying papa at
all....only when the video is off!
[sorry about the length, its a little long]

torn & tattered.

the title has a double meaning today.
torn: in my last pregnancy my water broke on this
day{yes, mark cant believe i am saying this...
modesty is out the window!]
i dont really want that to happen quite
yet {mostly because i want her birthstone
to be a diamond-april!} but
psychologically this pregnancy starts to
get really difficult because i am so ready to
have this baby out...and i cant help but think that within
five more days of my last pregnancy...jesse was out...
so she should be out soon!right!?!
tattered: yes i am worn out...and totally done being pregnant.

ok, i know pregnancy talk is not
that interesting
sooo.... the other
torn and tattered.

jesse's new room [once auntie alyson moves out]
is a torn and tattered nautical theme.
its that old fashioned really worn out nautical stuff i love.
it has been a little bit of a challenge because i have been trying to avoid re-painting the room color which does not match that torn
and tattered look i am going for. the color is an aqua blue.
so i have some pictures{they really did not turn out}that you can see of his new dresser...i tried to do a lime greenish base coat
with a taupe-ish overcoat that is crackled ...however my crackling did not go well.
yes, i took pictures of all my steps ...
pretending to be one of those famous bloggers
...i know i have a vivid imagination.

so this is how it started.

then i painted the base coat.
then i painted on elmers glue/or crackle paint: i used both.

when it was almost dry...put on the top coat.

here are some shots of the crackling...unfortunately they only came out to fine crackles...i wanted bigger ones...so i sanded the edges more to give it the worn look

the dresser complete.

and these two shots show all the "loot" so far that i have. those sticks on the side are the headboard for the bed that i made...
they are supposed to look torn and tattered: old vintage looking sails. the colorful folded fabic on the left is one of his pillow shams for his bedding, and the other fabric is for making other things like throw pillows and such.i will post pictures when i actually put it up in the room...hopefully it looks better than these pictures. :)!

poop.

{need i say more after the title.}
this is the day of poop.
poop has been the theme of the day.
have you ever just had a day filled with poop.
well let me tell you a little about this poopy day.

so...
allow me to set the stage.
mark and i wake up to a
lovely k-love worship song,
stretch and think about what a wonderful
nights sleep we had,
say some "good-morning honeys"
....
{just kidding... mornings aren't
quite that nice}...
anyways we sleepily roll ourselves
out of bed
and step onto...

nice ...

warm....

soft...

pile of poop!

yes...mark {lucky for me, stepped out of bed first}
gently lowered his entire foot into a large pile of dog poo.

upon further observation...
we discovered that there was runny dog
diarrhea all
around the bed...literally trapping us in our bed!
all over the carpet....
trailing into the bathroom...
everywhere!
...why the dog felt it was necessary to decorate the entire layout of our bedroom in brown, rather than keep
it to one spot is a mystery to me!

the day of poop.
so that was a fun way to begin the day!

but the day of poo
does not stop in the morning ....
no, i have a 1 year old
that can also contribute
to the day.
by the way...did i mention he is teething?
for those of you who do not know
teething poo is very, very acidic, stinky, and flat out gross.
well what did we discover upon getting him up in the morning.
yes, blow out teething diarrhea poo!
oh but why would he stop there
he also gave me another gift at lunch..
same thing...
stinky, acidic, nasty, diarrhea poop all up his back...
and lodged in every crevice possible.
result: another bath.
thus the day of poop.

still working on the cleaning thats
involved in
[the day poop.]
*thank goodness for chemicals, water, and carpet cleaners*

also just to top off the messes of the
day...here is what happened
with the pb&j sandwich today.
{i must have been wearing a sign that said
im 9 months pregnant and need big messes to clean up}

^
a close up of the mashed in sandwich that was all over his hair.

alright thats all i have for today
...i hope to have the dresser done tomorrow.
it is not going as planned...
i am praying it turns out half way decent.
