a chapter closed.

last days.
...mark completed his final day at
tricalifornia today. a chapter of our lives
has closed...but another one is now open.
we are very excitied to see
what the future holds
but for mark, it was still sad to
say goodbye to friends at work.
he has many memories and lots of experiences
from working there. they took him out to lunch today...and it was a nice way to say goodbye.

this is at wildflower last year. sad he is missing it...but thankful he will get sleep!

well...onto Shopatron.
he starts on monday.
im sure there will be lots to share in
the near future...you're all thinking hopefully...
cause otherwise you know you will just read about the pains of pregnancy :) !

anyways,
for anyone who cares about my projects,
again i am not feeling that proud
about this either...but i said
i would post pictures so here it is.
yes another one of my handmade toys.
my poor kids get bombarded with
fabric toys...that i keep experimenting with.
this is going to be part of his easter basket.
[again i tried to take step by step  pictures
but i kinda forgot along the way!]
hes really into stacking things
so you know those plastic stacking rings
well i made some myself.

< first i made some rough patterns {although i did not really stick to them...it gave me a place to start.

then i cut out some
coordinating fabric strips {next time ill actually cut circles...i was just trying to conserve fabric. >

{this is where i forgot to keep taking pictures..so i sewed up my rings some where in there.}

< then cut down to size a paper towel rod, and covered a kleenex box with some packing tape leaving a hole at the top....i put them together with lots of hot glue for stability.

< then i covered it with vinyl fabric...i topped it off with a wooden bead that is never coming off. no sharp edges here.

below are the rings completely sewed and stuffed...the stuffing still needs to be "worked on" as you can tell.

 and there it is ..
soft stacking circles...ummmm...on a pole...
on top of a box! [hahaha.]
we'll see if he actually likes it.
[i do like the very boyish fabric!]
